Bobbi Brown EXTRA Moisturizing Balm 7.8.11

I have gotten a lot of questions about what moisturizer I use at night. The answer to that age old question is that I have been using Bobbi Brown's EXTRA balm at night for the past 3 months and have been absolutely in love with it.

It is a VERY thick cream, almost tacky in a way. I would ONLY recommend this for women with dry skin. As you all know, my skin is extremely dry and needs all the hydration it can get and this fits the bill. If you have oily skin this might just be too heavy for you.

This balm as Bobbi Brown calls it has a nice spa, lavender scent that is not overpowering or overwhelming. I really love the packaging, it is not travel friendly but it looks very nice on your counter. It is a quality, heavy glass jar with a thick black screw on top.

The only down side of this is the price, it is quite expensive at $86 a pop. Almost up there with La Mer. However, I have been using nightly and because you need SUCH a little amount, seriously, just a pea size amount will do, you never run out. I havent even made a DIP in it yet. Also, Bobbi Brown runs friends and family about 1-2 times a year for 30% off so if you want to grad this I would recommending waiting for that.

I picked mine up on BobbiBrown.com but it is available in Bloomingdales, Saks, etc.
Have you tried this? What are your thoughts?

  1. Great post, I was definitely putting some thought into getting La Mer, but which one do you prefer? La Mer or Bobbi Brown?

  4. That cream is sooo moisturising! I have the eye cream and I love it! But i think its effects are better felt in the cold/drying winter time...bit heavy for summer. I'm from england and i buy mine in store called John Lewis...and i thinks its quite cheap in there about £50...so i guess about $70
