MizzWorthy's Myths and Legends Entry #1
This post is going to be my Myths and Legends entry for MizzWorthy's contest. My entry was based on a Legend, not so much a myth. My favorite book of all time and a legend in itself is Jacqueline Susann's book, Valley of the Dolls. I drew my inspiration from the book and the main charchtar Anne Wells.
Valley of the Dolls is the title of a best selling novel by Jacqueline Susann, published in 1966. It is widely considered one of the most commercially successful novels of all time. The "dolls" within the title is a slang term for downers, mood altering drugs. The novel begins immediately after the end of World War II and chronicles the story of three young women who embark on careers that bring them to the dizzying heights of fame and eventual self-destruction. Valley of the Dolls was an instant success when it was first published. See below for some background plot information and if you have not read this book, READ IT!!!!

My look is not an extreme look (maybe not extreme enough for an illamasqua contest) but really drawing inspiration from that time period. I have done this made up drugged up sixties glamour look on my 19 year old sister, Rebecca. She is a beauty without make up but with makeup she could be mistaken for a Victoria's Secret Model. No Joke. We played around for about an hour. Getting her not to smile and to stop laughing was no easy task!
This looks like it could be straight out of a W or Vogue Shoot. I adjusted the exposure to really give it a sixties feel! No other altering or photoshopping. She is naturally a stunner. I love these shots! I am going to blow the first one up and frame it.
Introducing one of my sisters....

Style Du Jour 7.3.09
I have been getting quite a few questions about my style. Here are my 5 favorite bags, I am a bag HO. I have alot, but these are my favorites.
Balenciaga Work in Black (Massive bag I have had for years, it is so worn in, buttery soft), Chocolate brown Chloe Paddington (heaviest bag known to human kind...basically it can be used as a weapon as well), Balenciaga Neon Yellow clutch with oversize hardware
My classic black Balenciaga, this was one of my first Balenciaga bags and I adore it. I got this about 5 years ago before the rage. Now Balenciaga's leather just do not compare to the original, quite sad. Another company that sacrificed quality for quantity.

Balenciaga City bag in Gris, Gunmetal Grey. THis is Riley's favorite bag was we can see. There is probably gum in there or something. She LOVES gum. Wacko dog.
Welllll thats it for now on style...next up...SHOES...my favorite!

Food Porn Du Jour 7.3.09
I made this meal last Tuesday, I am way behind on posts! My delicious homemade chicken parmigiana. I made this with panko Japanese breadcrumbs instead of Italian breadcrumbs. That is my secret, it is crispier and lighter in texture. Also, I made homemade sauce, San marzano tomatoes and garlic. For a side we had sauteed zucchini!! Yum!

Naked Honey Du Jour 7.2.09
Loving this eyeshadow form Naked Honey, its called Creme De Miel. I love highlight colors and this light gold is a VP finish with a metallic finish while being buttery smooth and soft. I am a fan!

LOVE THIS PRODUCT! Naked Honey Skin Salve. Very moisturizing. Great for dry skin patches, I have been using it on my lips. I love the thick consistency. I do NOT love the smell however, it is quite nice and smells like honey but it has a strong floral note and I do not LOVE florals usually. The scent wears off very quickly and that is a plus for me.

Have you gotten anything from Naked honey?
