I love red lips in the winter. Everyone wears a red lip differently, personally i like to wear my red lips when i am dressed down. I like to wear it with jeans and a white soft slouchy tee or even a Heather grey t to switch it up. I like the juxtaposition of a classically dressed up red lip with a casual downtown vibe. I also am a fan of red lips in the winter because I love red against white skin, something about it reminds me of a cool snow white.

ReplyDeleteI haven't stopped by to say Hello in ages and ironically enough I came to work with glossy red (work appropriate) lips. I am wearing NARS Afghan Red with Bad Education gloss. Not a true red or scarlet but it's definitely out of my neutral comfort zone. I kept eyes very light - Burberry Rosewood on lids/crease and bottom lash line with MAC's All that Glitters as a high light and a very thin black eyeliner - MAC Blacktrack fluid line. A defined brow and lots of black mascara. I keep my face simple - tinted moisturizer and a bit of bronzer to sculpt. I like my new Fall/Winter look. But I'm sure I'll go back to smokey eye and nude lip by the end of the week.

ReplyDeletei used to wear red lips back in the day... i.e. 1985, (worn with a suit i bought from a jumble sale). if i recall, the lipstick was by barry m and was a blue red shade.
just a follow up - this influenced me to buy a Dolce & Gabbana red lipstick. Luckily it was Saks F/F sale time. I got Ultra - a pink red but it's bright nonetheless. I am loving this red lip movement.
