Nail Polish Du Jour 5.10.09

Okay, so I was in Sephora looking around as usual, as there is one on the way from work to the subway. I was looking around for my perfect purple and I was stopped in my tracks by the BEST present ever for my best friend Steph. She got her wisdom teeth pulled this week and I was looking for something good for her and this was PERFECT. (I am ruining the surprise obviously, because she reads this...oh well...I cant wait for YOU TO SEE THIS). I obviously had to get one for myself also!

She is really weird and loves mermaid colors... I know! Anyway, this nailpolish is the prettiest color ever, I saw it from across Sephora and get this, it's called MERMAID. Steph, How perfect?

Anyway, onto to the pictures to drool over. HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS COLOR? OPI for Sephora is kicking out some SICK colors! It looks like a peacocks feather, its a turquoise duo-chrome with purple and green flashes!!

I do not have swatches on my nails yet, because I painted my nails with OPI INK three days ago and I love it. This is what I have on now. It is a very very dark shimmery purple with a deep purple and blue sparkles.

Do you love Mermaid BY OPI for Sephora as much as I do?
Feel better Stephy girl, come back I miss you :(

Dissapointment Du Jour 4.21.09

I got my Sephora stash a few days ago, inside was YSL Rouge Volupte #4 in Honey Beige. You all know my undying love for YSL Rouge Volupte. I was so excited to try this out and I had high hopes for it, unfortunately the color did just not suit me. It is a bit too orangey brown, not pale nude enough for me. I hate anything that has any type of orange in it on my lips. I like a very pale lip, whether it be nude or pink.

Swatch

In the pictures I took it looks quite nude, but that is due to the poor lighting. This baby is going back to sephora. I will be sticking to #2 and #7 for a while, they are amazing enough to not bore me for, oh... about a month or so! ;)

Apologies for the awful photo quality, this was taken with my blackberry at my desk at work before I return it to Sephora today.

I am sad to see it go back but onto bigger and better nudes!

Obsession Du Jour 4.10.09

This little sponge is the most fantastic beauty tool I have used in a long long time. I absolutely adore how this puts on liquid foundation. I have heard you can use it for powder as well. I have only used it for liquid and cream and I am in love with it. It provides smooth, streak free and automatically blended color. It's cute and contoured perfectly to hold. It is washable, so instead of throwing away your sponges this is re-usable. Very eco friendly, which is always a plus in my book!

Yes, again, it is quite pricey for a sponge at $18.99 but well worth it in my opinion. I haven't even been reaching for my beloved 109 during the daily morning makeup application process and that is saying ALOT.

You can find this at many places such as Sephora, Beauty.com and Rickys NYC.

Has anyone else tried this? Thoughts?
