Obsession Du Jour 6.1.09

Get your glow on. These babies are the original luster drops. The brilliance Pur by Chanel are my go to liquid bronzer/ highlighters in the summer months. These last you a LONG time. I have had both over a year and they are still perfect.

They are not thick, they are the consistency of a liquid foundation. I use these two ways, In the summer I always mix luminizer with my tinted moisturizer or liquid foundation. I never ever use powder foundation in the summer. I love the look of dewy glowy skin. Another way I use it as a regular luminizer, i just dab it on the high planes of my face. I love this lumizer because it does not have any glitter, just fine shimmer. It is very subtle and really makes you look glowing from within your skin.

Sunlit and Bronzelit.
Sunlit- golden champagne
Bronzelit- copper bronze

Which do you like better MAC luster drops or Chanel's brilliance pur?

Foundation Du Jour 4.25.09

All, meet my HG of foundations when I want medium coverage. I am super picky when it comes to foundation, as you all know I have very dry skin. It is very hard for me to find something that I feel is moisturizing enough without clogging my pores. I also do not like the powdery finish so I look for something that will give a natural dewy-ish finish. This is where Chanel VitaLumiere comes in. I absolutely love this stuff. It has great coverage without being powdery or cakey. The color works PERFECTLY on my skin tone, I use Cameo (in the winter), but I only use foundation in the winter. In the summer I used Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer or just a bit of bronzer. I put it on with either, my beauty blender, my MAC 187 brush or my fingers, they all work exceptionally. It is quite expensive at $54, but I have had this bottle for 3 years. True story, I forgot about it for about 2 of those years. I will definitely repurchase this when I run out though. I am now at the last 1/4th of the bottle, so that will have to be soon!

This is definitely not a foundation for anyone with oily skin. This will slip right off of your face and make you look like an oil slick. The reason this works for me is I have very dehydrated skin so my skin soaks it up like water. Chanel does make two other foundations that would be more suited for Normal and Oily skin, ProLumiere and MatLumiere.

Have any of you all tried the Lumiere Chanel foundation line?

Summer Product Lovin Du Jour 4.19.09

So now that summer time weather has reared its head in new york city I have decided to break out my tried and true summer bronzer.

Meet Bronzer Universal De Chanel, or as I like to call it, the best bronzer in the world.

Creamy, bronze goodness...

Swatch on my un- tanned winter ew skin.
This bronzer has been with my since highschool around 7 years ago when I first discovered it (i have gone through about 4 or so of these). Again, as I am dry it is hard for my to use a bronzer without looking all powdery, which I HATE. During winter, during my palest days, I use this as a cheek color and a bronzer or to contour. During the summer, I use this as an all over face color to deepen my tan. The best way to use it is with an angled fluffy brush (I used to use my fingers with this and that was adequate, but the brush application makes a world of a difference because you really only need the slightest bit).Truly wonderful product my Chanel, and definitley one of my staples in my makeup stash.

Pros:
  • Sheer, Natural, Buildable Color
  • Creamy
  • Lasts a long time (only need a tiny bit for each applicaion)
  • Packaging
  • A lot for your money
  • Smells nice

Cons:
  • Chanel price tag, very expensive ( SO WORTH IT)
  • Comedegenic, if you are acne prone, I would not suggest this.
Have any of you tried this and love it as much as me?
What is your summer must have?

China Glaze: For Audrey and Recycle

I was walking downtown today and I found a little beauty shop that had every China Glaze color ever. I was so excited I burst through the doors and guess what I found... For Audrey. The perfect tiffany blue box color. I also found the best grey ever, I have been on the eternal search for the perfect neutral grey color. I have tried everything from OPI for Sephora Metro Chic (too purple) to OPI You Don't Know Jacques (too brown). Recycle from China Glaze is AMAZING, it is the most perfect elephant, matte grey. I am extremely pleased. I will swatch on nails tommorow.
Has anyone else fallen in love with Recycle by China Glaze?
