Secret Du Jour 8.12.09

Hellllooo (like my cool lemon?), so I have remembered a tried and true secret. This is inspired by Bubblegarm. LEMON Juice, I am obsessed with Lemon Juice, just ask my best friend (she hates it, which is good for me because I take all her lemons out of her drinks!). I drink it like its going out of style (fantastic diet secret, I swear if you drink it every morning you can drop 5 pds in 2 weeks. It speeds up digestion and speeds up a sluggish metabolism. It also is a natural diuretic. More on that later) Anyway, I use it for creating intense shine in my hair and lightening my locks. Also, it is great for acne and scars. Why you may ask? take a look below...

General Reasons to Love Lemons
There are many valuable uses for Lemon Juice that can be quite helpful to your beauty routine. Several of the uses include giving hair a beautiful shine, lightening and highlighting hair, removing grease from dishes, removing tarnish from metals, healing a sore throat or bad cough, disinfecting a kitchen, disinfectant properties in general, removing odors and preserving fruit. Lemon juice also is used to heal blemishes. By dabbing a small amount onto pimples skin clears up and becomes clearer. It also over time will smooth out scars.

Effects on Acne or problematic Skin

Due to its disinfectant properties, lemon juice does indeed clear up acne. When applied to the skin the acid in the lemons breaks down the acne causing bacteria. The citric acid also known as L-absorbic acid also cleanses and tightens pores making them appear a lot smaller. Other benefits include reducing overall redness, lightening skin, smoothing the skin (scarring and fine lines) and giving the face a soft glow. Not surprisingly L-Absorbic acid is found in many skin lines and acne fighting products. Unlike acne products sold in store, lemon juice is affordable and easy to find. The acne clearing effects The acne clearing effects should be visible within a few days of usage. Lemon Juice is also used to treat/ disinfect minor wounds, scratches, tears and abrasions.

Cons.
Some of the cons of using lemon juice is the slight stinging sensation one might feel in the first few days. Some people with sensitive skin may experience redness and irritation, its best to stop if you find that happening to you. Due to the natural acidic qualities lemon juice is considered a highly effective treatment for mild to moderate acne.

Will you guys try it? YOU SHOULD.
