Obsession Du Jour: Dr. Hauschka 11.3.09

The first introduction I had to Dr. Hauschka was in high school, nearly 7 years ago... YIKES! Anyway, I was reading some god awful magazine, probably Cosmo or YM. Moving right along, I read that Brad Pitt only used Dr. Hauschka lip balm, that drove me right to my neighborhood WholeFoods on Long Island to pick it up and I LOVED it (Duh! When I was in HS I would have used a sweaty sock all over my body if Brad Pitt said he did it, loved him!) I still use this lip balm constantly to this day. It has a wonderful all natural scent and a really moisturizing feeling to it. Speaking of, I must pick up another one.

However, the point of this post was not to wax poetic about the lip balm, but I will anyway. this is one GREAT lip balm, I really love that it is all natural. I have both the stick and the pot form, while I think most people would like the stick form for hygiene reasons I really love the pot one. I feel like it is slightly thicker and more moisturizing.

Okay now on to the reason of this post, my lusting after the Rose Day Cream. I have read numerous raves about this product but nothing ever made me jump up and go get it. I don't know why. I read Rachel Zoe's blog the other day and read her professing her love for this cream. I know she has very dry skin, when I met her in LA we actually discussed this. Go figure. Anyway, her mention made me perk up and want to try it. It did have me rushing out on solely her recommendation, she is not the epitome of good skin (she looks like she spent 75% of her life in a tanning bed sucking down ciggs with those lines around her mouth. Recently she does look better with all that botox she got. Smart Move!) It is a super rich and super moisturizing cream, you know that has my name written all over it!

I have not picked it up yet, but I will this weekend. I might order using the 30% code on beauty.com. Woo hoo!

Have any of you with dry skin tried it? This is definitely not recommend for oily skin. It is very very rich. However, they do make a light version for more oily types.

  2. I Love (yes, with a capital L) Dr. Hauschka. My mom has been using their products (Rose day cream, as well) for decades and still swears by them.

I also love the Rose cream! Highly recommended for normal to dry skin.

  6. I find it too rich for my skin but it's definitely worth it if you have dry skin. It smells great and it's surprisingly not heavy.

  8. I also want to note that my mom's skin is amazing for her age. Hardly any wrinkles. (yes, she also stayed out of the sun most of her life)

The cream has a rose smell to it. It is quite fragrant, but it isn't that fake uber-sweet chemical scent that you would usually get.

    Enjoy :)
