Illamasqua News Du Jour 6.13.09

Hope you all are having a nice weekend, I am NOT because it is not sunny. It is gray and overcast. I was thinking about going over to MAC and picking up some items from the new Naked Honey collection as I finally received my MACPRO card but I am not feeling motivated so I will sit on my couch with my puppy and watch TV and drink some green tea. FUN!

Anyway, I wanted to mention a great honor I have received in the past week. I have been featured on the brand new Illamasqua blog as one of their "Illamasqua Blogger Icons", check it out on their brand spankin' new website http://illamasqua.blogspot.com/. I also have some more exciting Illamasqua news and FOTD's coming up for you soon! Stay Tuned...

I will even be putting an Illamasqua product in as part of my giveaway so one of you all can try it out!

I can't wait to go to the UK and get to test out and swatch every sing product and see if everything in their range is as good as my liquid metal in Solstice (You can read my review on that in a previous blog post). I am very much looking forward to trying a quad, a blush, their gray nail polish, some lipsticks...basically everything! I will be reporting back in August on the full entire range.

Have any of you tried Illamasqua yet? Which products?

  9. I have looked at their site and really wanted one of the purple shadow but it isn't available to ship here and I thought they were a little expensive. Is the product worth it?

  10. I'm so not a fan of this brand. It's SO overhyped. I found the e/s swatches to be crap and not very pigmented at all and I spent a good 15 mins at the counter with a friend swatching my hand to death.

I have Solstice which I'm yet to use but I liked the initial swatch. Unless they come out with another first of a kind product like that they're not getting a penny of my £.

*skips off to the NARS counter*

  11. Krista- I have only tried a few products so I do not recommend it really yet. I will be back with recommendations soon though! I do LOVE the products I have gotten so far- especially the liquid metal!!!!

  12. Yinka- I have not tried out the full range yet! I am planning on trying every single thing once I get to the UK. I must say I absolutely LOVE both liquid metals I got. They are fantastic. I was sent a lovely eyeshadow by Alex over at Illamasqua, unfortunately I have not had the time to try it out yet. I will do that and give a comprehensive review! xx

  13. I hav been to Illamasqua counter and initially some of the colours wouldnt swatch well but the makeup artiste said that EVERYONE in the shop comes and swatches and the sweaty bacteria on fingers transfers to the product and causes it to block up a bit which makes TOTAL sense - if you are going to swatch scrape a bit of colour of the side with your nail [dont get caught lol!!] and it will show the real colour. You cant rely on testers at ALL

  14. Anon- I agree with you, testers are not the best way to swatch. the oils of your fingers can completely ruin products!
