As many of you know, I have been trying to get my paws on this mineralize skin finish for ages, Lightscapade. I was so damn excited to be able to get this and that is where my excitement ended.
Yes, its a nice highlighter, Yes, its natural looking, Yes, Its pretty in the pan, but is it worth the hype? NO.
Much better dupes in my opinion: Prestige Baked Minerals, MAC Vanilla Pigment, MAC shroom e/s, MAC Strobe Liquid, Stila Starlight Eyeshadow, heck any light neutral highlighter is a good dupe for this. In fact, Prestige Baked Minerals (I have a previous post on this) is 10X better for half the price and no stress of going crazy looking for this thing or paying a ludicrous $60 on ebay!
Thoughts?
I am now crossing this off my list of 'wants'. Thanks for the insights! Now, must run to see where i can find Prestige line near me...
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...to be honest the vaining looks a bit weird to me... wouldn't want to swatch it... But it might work when u just need a light sheen...
ReplyDeletewhoa!!!
ReplyDelete$60?!
that's insane!
just make sure you really use it so to not just throw your money away...
XD
Thats insane for that....It does look pretty but how disappointing to get something you are so excited about and it not be so great.....try and use it somehow...shadow highlighter or something...yikes...
ReplyDeleteThat's so annoying when that happens, you have really high expectations for something and it ends up being on the wrong side of average. But look on the bright side, at least you are spreading the word so no one has to be disappointed by this. I'm sure all your readers appreciate the heads up on this product. I know I do!
ReplyDeleteKrista- It is pretty and is a nice highlighter and even an all over powder for a nice sheen. it is just not something extraordinary! you know!
ReplyDeleteLiparazzi- Very annoying!
ReplyDeletetina- The veining is quite nice and its a nice product its just not super special like I thought it was going to be, its a nice subtle highlighter. I guess I had too high hopes!
ReplyDeletelipstickrules- You can find prestige at any drugstore, i got mine at Duane Reade but they usually carry it at cvs, walgreens, etc!
ReplyDeleteSadly, with me being in Toronto, Canada, we don't have CVS or Walgreens and no CCOs. If any Canadians are reading please let me know if you know :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers.
lipstickrules- Dont you have superdrug or something along those lines? Do you have Ulta?
ReplyDeleteVery disappointing. I hate it when stuff doesn't live up to the hype. I love the Prestige MSFs as well.
ReplyDeletelol thank you for posting this
ReplyDeleteHey there again. I heard that Prestige is at Pharmaplus (a drug store chain) in Canada. I will have to hunt it down. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteJenny- I know! What a let down!
ReplyDeleteNo problem Kelsey
ReplyDeletelipstickrules- great! try it out, let me know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteI thought I would have to have this. I waited in anticipation for the collection to be released and when I saw it, I decided like you that it was nothing special and looked far prettier sitting in the pan than the effect it gave on the skin. I passed! I think there are far prettier MSF's out in previous collections and I guess we'll see what the ones from the up-coming color craft collection look like in person.....
ReplyDeleteAww, that sucks that you paid so much for it & aren't thrilled!
ReplyDeleteOh I fixed my broken eyeshadow with tape...... I did a new post on the revival of the Quad...
XoXo
$60 for Lightscapade MSF?! I would go to the CCO and find it for a cheaper price if they have it. It looks pretty! Some people on Specktra wants this MSF to come back.
ReplyDeleteOmg guys, I did NOT pay 60$ for this. That is just what I saw some lightscapades go for on ebay! I got it in a swap!
ReplyDeleteOhhh it looks so pretty too! That is a shame, but I am sure you will find a use for it somehow right? I hope so :) Atleast you didn't pay full price for it, that's one good thing!!
ReplyDeleteAw Belle thankyou so much for your kind comment, you are a sweetie pie!!!
Hope your weekend is full of beautiful things like you deserve :)
sorry to hear your disappoint with the product you really wanted. hope you can find ways to use it or sell it to someone else....idk. sorry that this happened to you=[
ReplyDeleteOh! I'm so sorry for the confusion. Yeah, I once went on Ebay and searched for MAC MSFs and it was at ridiculous prices! I'd rather pay $27 for a MSF than $60. I hope that I can find Lightscapade at my CCO on Tuesday.
