Overrated Product Du Jour 6.5.09

As many of you know, I have been trying to get my paws on this mineralize skin finish for ages, Lightscapade. I was so damn excited to be able to get this and that is where my excitement ended.

Yes, its a nice highlighter, Yes, its natural looking, Yes, Its pretty in the pan, but is it worth the hype? NO.

Much better dupes in my opinion: Prestige Baked Minerals, MAC Vanilla Pigment, MAC shroom e/s, MAC Strobe Liquid, Stila Starlight Eyeshadow, heck any light neutral highlighter is a good dupe for this. In fact, Prestige Baked Minerals (I have a previous post on this) is 10X better for half the price and no stress of going crazy looking for this thing or paying a ludicrous $60 on ebay!

  5. That's so annoying when that happens, you have really high expectations for something and it ends up being on the wrong side of average. But look on the bright side, at least you are spreading the word so no one has to be disappointed by this. I'm sure all your readers appreciate the heads up on this product. I know I do!

  9. Sadly, with me being in Toronto, Canada, we don't have CVS or Walgreens and no CCOs. If any Canadians are reading please let me know if you know :-)
    Cheers.

  11. Very disappointing. I hate it when stuff doesn't live up to the hype. I love the Prestige MSFs as well.

  15. I thought I would have to have this. I waited in anticipation for the collection to be released and when I saw it, I decided like you that it was nothing special and looked far prettier sitting in the pan than the effect it gave on the skin. I passed! I think there are far prettier MSF's out in previous collections and I guess we'll see what the ones from the up-coming color craft collection look like in person.....

  17. $60 for Lightscapade MSF?! I would go to the CCO and find it for a cheaper price if they have it. It looks pretty! Some people on Specktra wants this MSF to come back.

  18. Omg guys, I did NOT pay 60$ for this. That is just what I saw some lightscapades go for on ebay! I got it in a swap!

  19. Ohhh it looks so pretty too! That is a shame, but I am sure you will find a use for it somehow right? I hope so :) Atleast you didn't pay full price for it, that's one good thing!!

Aw Belle thankyou so much for your kind comment, you are a sweetie pie!!!

  21. Oh! I'm so sorry for the confusion. Yeah, I once went on Ebay and searched for MAC MSFs and it was at ridiculous prices! I'd rather pay $27 for a MSF than $60. I hope that I can find Lightscapade at my CCO on Tuesday.
