Illamasqua Dystopia Du Jour 10.13.09

Why am I so late and behind on everything? Oh yeah, because my life is a disaster because I work so much...

Anyway, I received a lovely package from Illamasqua and right in time! I was perusing the website the night before trying to place and order and I just could decide what I wanted to try. I still need to pick up Static and Android pigments because those are calling my name! I hear Static is completely sold out already...woo hoo that went fast! Bummer for me though!

I got to try out the Silver Liquid metal which I obviously love and the hot pink lipstick, again, adore.

I wear nudes daily, but for a fun night out on the town or to dinner this hot pink is rockin! It is the perfect cool toned fuschia pink.

I am using the liquid metal daily, you might be like um how? Well, I use it with a small eyeliner brush on the inner corners and run underneath my eyeliner on the lower lid. Its very fun and bright! I am a big fan! I love how soft it is and how deeply pigmented it is. I have read it is being compared to MAC's Metal- X collection (which I have) and I do not personally think so. The color is similar to MAC's similar one but the texture and formulations are eons apart!

What have you tried so far?

  1. I have Static pigment and it's definitely worth getting! I did a FOTD with it here http://liparazzi.blogspot.com/2009/09/fotd-using-new-illamasqua-products.html if you want to check out what it looks like. It's so unique and unlike anything I have seen. It would be worth trying to get it from Ebay

  2. Lip- Gorgeous, I just went and saw it. What makes it so unique to you? Does it resemble pink opal? I have already ordered it from Illamasqua, they are holding it for me when I go to london to pick it up!

  3. Yeah the Illamasqua metals are smoother than the MAC cream e/s but for the sake of saving money on more items that will likely sit gathering dust I'm happy with my Metal X's considering I don't reach for Solstice much anyway.

  4. It just has so many different facets to it, it's opalescent with pink/lilac effects. You can layer it over different eyeshadows to give different effects

  11. Brit brand Illamasqua has just the richest pigments out there... really love their stuff and their eyelash curler is, in my opinion, better than the Shu Uemura one everyone seems to love. I'm doing a slideshow on the best green nail varnishes right now and they have about three of them.
