What I love about it? The luxe packaging, the gorgeous smell, the fake eyelash effect it gives. Basically, on the whole it is the best mascara that I have found ever. The only problem is it dries out pretty quickly, hence going through a ton of it.
Recently, I was told that L'Oreal Carbon Voluminous was a dupe. Usually, i would say NO WAY! Nothing could come close to my beloved YSL, but L'Oreal is the parent company of YSL beauty so I figured lets give it a shot. Also, my YSL is beginning to dry out.
And boy, am I glad that I did. It is EXACTLY the same minus the scent. I love the scent but for about $20 less I can live without it. It is exactly the same formula and brush. Usually i find the secret of a good mascara is in the brush!

Has anyone tried L'Oreal Voluminous?
Yep, I have it on right now. I prefer the waterproof version to the original as I find it less 'wet' and you dont end up with excess product on the wand which annoys me as it causes lashes to clump.
ReplyDeleteThe waterproof version still gives the same 'blacker than black'' effect. L'oreal Voluminous and Chanel Inimitable are my fave mascaras.

yeah I love voluminous but I still think faux cils is better..I feel like faux cils gives it a little more of a lift. if that makes sense..I heart ysl faux cils.

ReplyDeleteI have never tried either!! Can't wait to now, though. I do however adore Loreal Telescopic...I have received MANY compliments while wearing it and questions quite often as to weather I'm wearing false lashes. [try it!] As for YSL, I have never tried Faux Cils (but now will), but I did just purchase their newest mascara though I forget the exact name. Beautiful packaging though.

ReplyDeleteyeah girl! I LOVE THAT ISH! That's my favourite everrrr. I just love the rich blackness of the Carbon Black...almost bought the original today...and then put it back and vowed to search for the carbon black instead. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI have tried the Loreal Voluminous, and I didn't like it at all. It flaked like crazy, and didn't give me as much volume as I would have liked. Big blah on that count.

ReplyDeleteThis is the mascara staple in my kit. I use waterproof for outdoor locations (it swipes off well with makeup remover, no irritating little particles in the eye) and the brown is lovely too. I tried the curled brush, meh, the original is better. YSL is good, but with mascara (such a turnover product) I go with L'Oreal every time.
