Sleek Du Jour 10.5.09

About 2 weeks ago I received a lovely invite to meet with the two awesome marketing execs from Sleek Makeup. I was REALLY excited about this because the last time I went to London I went to Superdrug with strict and clear direction, to pick up Sleek Palettes. Unfortunately when I got there they were all out! I was bummed out.

However, I got to meet for drinks with the lovely sleek girls and learn about the line. Sleek is a really innovative line, it is like nothing we have in the US. It is an affordable line all about new and exciting things. I was trying to think of what we have in the US that is comparable and we don't have anything! Drugstore make up here is very boring. In the UK you have Barry M, Gosh, Sleek, Eyeko...all that fun stuff.

I think this would be a fantastic product to bring over to the US, especially with the economy the way it is now, I really think it would explode as there is just NOTHING like this in the US. It is a super fun line with an emphasis on quality with a low price tag. Sign me up!

Onto the products, I was lucky enough to get to try out some really great products. I got the palettes, some lashes, eyeliners, glitter liners and lip glosses.

My favorite product by far were the palettes so that is what I am going to review here for you. I was SO impressed by these palettes. First of all, the colors are amazing, bright, SUPER pigmented, soft and easy to blend. The packaging is a matte black palette, I love black packaging. By the way the graphite and sunset are new and not out yet. Yay for trying new things!

I got 4 different palettes, the signature one, the graphite one, one called sunset and a neon one. Take a look at those colors, the colors go on exactly how they look, which is amazing. I do not have anything like the Neon's as I don't wear too many colors, this will be the one I use the least but never the less it is a FUN product, so BRIGHT! My favorite has to be the graphite palette as I love smokey eyes and grey colors. However, I have been using the signature palette alot, especially the champagne color and the dark olive green.

Swatches.... all without bases! Pretty impressive!!

Have you guys tried out sleek? I am so jealous of you Uk'ers and your drugstore makeup!

  8. I have the Storm one which is looovely, you should definitely check that out if you can as it's such a staple for me. Can't wait for them to release the Graphite one, that looks right up my alley ;) I can see that being a sell-out as smokey colours are so popular and all the colours in the palette look really wearable. I'll raid every Superdrug til I get my grubby little mitts on one it I tells ya! :P

  10. Ooo new palettes :) The sleek palettes are really good, great value for money, and great colour ranges. I normally talk myself out of palettes as i wont use all the colours. Can't wait to see these in the shops.

I might have some dupes I might be willing to part with if someone was looking. I was just sorting some stuff out for a blog sale and I guess I could sent to international.

Part of the fun is having things you cant get in your country!!

    Thanks for the watches!
