Sleek Part 3 Du Jour 10.20.09

Here is my last installment of Sleek products that I received at the dinner with the girls from Sleek. This is another goodie, gel eyeliners. These are crease proof and budge proof. They make very nice bases and obviously great eyeliners.

The reason I love this product so much is not that it is innovative, but that no mass market makeup brands in the US have gel eyeliners. You can not find a quality gel eyeliner in a drugstore for peanuts! This is comparable to Stila Smudgepots, Coastal Scents and Bobbi Browns eyeliner gels.

This is most comparable to the Coastal Scents gel eyeliner in terms of longevity. MAC Fluidline is a bit creamier and softer, this is a bit of a thicker gel, which I kind of like. The lasting power is great. I do not know much about the color range though, that is the only downside. I heard Coastal Scents came out with a lot of new colors.

I do not wear gel eyeliners all that often as I think they are a semi pain in the ass. I like real true liquid liner, quick and easy!

Has anyone tried Sleek Gel Eyeliners? Thoughts?

  1. I have the black and yellow one. They're ok for the price. I did a review on them a few mths back. The brush they come with is crap though, so I use a different one. I use them as bases now as I prefer GOSH Art Extreme liners.

There are at least 6 colours - white, black, yellow, blue, orange ..erm *mind's gone blank* I can't remember ...

  2. Yes, vex the brush is complete rubbish. Threw it away already, unfortunately we don't have gosh here in the states. I do not use gel liner all that often. I like pure liquid liner!

  3. I agree about the brush, it's cack!Have got the black and Grey ones, I have a Pink one as well but I never use it. The quality is ok but I prefer my MAC or Bobbi Brown gel liners. However the Sleek ones are good value for money

  4. sleek do a lovely metallic blue one but they seem to dry up really quick. I know all gel eyeliners do eventually but I think the sleek ones dry quicker :( xx

  7. I got 2 of these, got home and opened them to discover they were rock solid. Every single one I look at in Superdrug was like this when I went back :( I have heard since that they dry up really quick if you are lucky enough to get one that is soft in the first place!! I was gutted because the colours are lovely and the prices so reasonable.

  8. i use the white one every time i use eyeshadow base. beats UDPP by far! and its fantastic for making colours so bright - better than buying a blue paint pot/gel liner for blue eyeshadow, green paint pot/gel liner for green eyeshadow etc. never used it as a liner though! oh and i picked up the sunset palette today :)

  9. I haven't tried them before as I thought to be honest that they would be a bit rubbish, like their eyeshadow palettes kind of ok for the price but not long lasting...are these really worth it if you have bobbi brown and mac already?

  13. I would like to try them, I didn't realize Coastal Scents was so good, might have to try that out first since I have access to them. Right now I use HIP from the drugstore, its so so.
